The Dishwasher Water Inlet Valve allows the appliance to fill with water and complete the cleaning cycle. If your dishwasher won’t fill properly or overflows and leaks water on the floor, then the water valve may be restricted or damaged and replacing it may alleviate these issues. Note that if the dishwasher is underfilling, it will most likely exhibit poor wash performance. In order to access the part, you’ll remove the lower access panel from the dishwasher. Note that you will need to reuse the brass fitting from the existing part with the new valve; use pipe joint compound to securely attach it to the new part.Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the dishwasher and novice repair experience. You must unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also be sure to turn off the water supply to your dishwasher before you begin. Helpful Tip: We also recommend using affresh® Dishwasher Cleaner* (item W10282479) to help reduce limescale and mineral build-up that can be unsightly and affect your dishwasher’s performance.*affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.Part Specification• This product is a Factory Certified Part.
